Texas Provides Car-Side Seasonal Flu Vaccinations in a 'Shots to Go' Drive-Thru Program!

The government is certainly making it quite convenient to get vaccinations. In our McDonald's and Taco Bell drive-thru world, we can add seasonal flu inoculations to the list of things a person can now get from the comfort of his/her automobile.

Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi College of Nursing and Health Science students recently collaborated with the Corpus Christi/Nueces County Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHP) Team as certified “vaccinators” for emergency clinics in September.

Because of the onset of the flu season and the emergence of the novel H1N1 virus, the City/County Health District conducted three major drive-through seasonal flu immunization clinics as part of the city- and county-wide readiness initiative for emergency and disaster preparedness.

This is one drive-thru that I will pass by without stopping!
