The Defense Advanced Research Project Agency's (DARPA's) Tactical Technology Office (TTO) is requesting information on possible approaches to providing persistent, low-latency, broadband data communications between spacecraft in low earth orbit (LEO) and the ground that can be in operational use by 2012-2013. DARPA's interest is in identifying end-to-end solutions that can provide 24/7 or near-24/7 two-way connection availability at latencies and bandwidth that are commensurate with performing telemetry, real-time control, sharing of network resources, and data exfiltration for a wide array of mission payloads.
