The FDIC closed three (3) banks on January 15, 2010 -- Town Community Bank & Trust in Antioch, Illinois; St. Stephen State Bank in St. Stephen, Minnesota; and Barnes Banking Company in Kaysville, Utah.

Town Community Bank & Trust will cost $17.8 million against the FDIC insurance fund. St. Stephen State Bank will cost $7.2 million against the FDIC insurance fund. Barnes Banking Company will cost $271.3 million against the FDIC insurance fund.

The total amount charged against the FDIC insurance fund today is $296,300,000 (or $296.3 million). At this point, 4 banks have closed this year.

US Farmers Plant Fewest Wheat Crop Acres in Nearly a Century

The last time America's farmers planted as few wheat acres as they did this season, it was 1913 - the year before World War I. I do not know if this record low crop planting will lead to the food crisis that I am seeing being predicted by more and more people, but it will certainly not help to have less wheat than normal.

The Agriculture Department reported Tuesday that the total acres of winter wheat for 2010 is 37.1 million acres, down 14 percent nationwide from last year.

The agency blames poor weather, low prices and the late row crop harvest for the decrease.

If the people of the world let one hundred fifty decide to build space mirrors to block the sun when we are experiencing some of the coldest days on record, then it will be a tragedy. I hope some of the We Are Change people in the Bay Area and/or Alex Jones put this Asilomar International Conference On Climate Intervention & Geoengineering Technologies being held at the Asilomar Conference Center in Monterey, California on 22-26 March 2010 (see the note above) on their calendar and protest these folks.

No one should have the right to block the sun or geoengineer this planet no matter how well intentioned their quack science may be. We certainly are living in the future with a bunch of mad scientists! And it doesn't just stop with the space mirrors.

Stratospheric aerosols

Spray shiny sulphur compounds into the high atmosphere to reflect sunlight. Relatively cheap and easy to do, though the chemicals gradually fall back to earth. The most likely option, though possible side effects include changes to global rainfall.

We already have these stratospheric aerosols. They are called chemtrails! A chemtrail by any other name is still the same.

Ocean fertilisation

Dump iron into the sea to boost plankton growth and soak up carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Hard to do on a significant scale, and doubts about how deep the plankton would sink have raised doubts about how long the carbon would be secured.

Of course dumping iron won't have any adverse effects on other marine lifeforms likely resulting in an even worse crisis. Yeah, right! And I have some oceanfront property in Oatman, Arizona for sale at $500 an acre!

Cloud whitening

Fleets of sailing ships strung across the world's oceans could spray seawater into the sky to evaporate and leave behind shiny salt crystals to brighten clouds, which would then reflect sunlight back into space. Could be turned off at any time, but might interfere with wind and rain patterns.

Spraying salt into the sky will dry up the clouds and cause droughts.

Space mirrors

A giant orbiting sunshade in space to block the sun. More likely to be a collection of millions or even trillions of small mirrors rather than a giant orbiting parasol. Very expensive and impractical with current technology.

Let's make the planet even colder than it already is.

Artificial trees

Devices that use a chemical process to soak up carbon dioxide from the air. Technically possible but very expensive on a meaningful scale.

Why not just plant more real trees?

St. Louis School Gives H1N1 "Swine Flu" Shot to Student Despite Parent's Written Objection

The schools and other State actors play by their own rules and do not care whether some parent may object to the school's H1N1 "swine flu" vaccination program. Even if the parent does not want the vaccine for her kid, it does not matter. The school will give the vaccine regardless just like it recently did in St. Louis.

ST. LOUIS MO (KTVI-FOX2now.com) - A grade school student reportedly received a swine flu shot his mother didn't want him to have. She says she put it in writing, but someone at her son's school in the St. Louis City School District still gave him the shot.

Kenyatta Allen says she received a permission slip which she signed the section forbidding the H1N1 shot being given to eleven year old Brandon. He has asthma, and she was concerned about side effects.

Unless the laws of Missouri are unreasonable, this mother should have a cause of action against the school district and perhaps the person who injected her son especially if that person knew about the parent's objection prior to the shot.

I write about a lot of different topics on this blog. I have a lot of different interests, so regular readers will see a wide variety of discussions. However, food is one of the most important, if not the most important after air and water. Without food, you can't fight, work, procreate, think or solve problems. Remixx World! has previously discussed some of the food issues facing our nation and these link may be reviewed at the end of this article.

The videos above purportedly show grain shipments in Tacoma, Washington. The person who posted the videos (DrWilliamMount) believes that our country's grain is being off-loaded to trigger a food crisis.

I would not be surprised if he turns out to be accurate, because food has long been used a weapon against the people. There is also a shipping container shortage in the Oregon ports. It has also been recently reported that America's strategic grain reserves are empty! I wonder what is really being shipped out, because this country is certainly not making any products. The United States is certainly in no position to weather a food crisis if one was to occur, and the question that needs to be answered is whether this is mere government mismanagement or an intentional act.

I have more to tell you on this now. My friend was driving through Tacoma the other night while we were talking on the phone about this whole grain thing. AS we were talking she drove down 56th Street in Tacoma. She suddenly stopped and let out a holler!

She saw right in front of her at the exact time we were talking, a HUGE building that has been shut down for a long, long time. It was an old granary..... She was shocked because it was up and running on full speed ahead! She said there was grain everywhere! SHE HADN'T SEEN IT LIKE THIS IN YEARS! So something is definitely up!

Then the next day she called me to say on the news she heard the report that Portland, Oregon was out of containers at their main shipping/transportation place. I am not sure of the details on this one but she was surprised at how all of a sudden there are problems with all this. Something is up. I will let you know more as I find out things.....

Zbigniew Brzezinski Says America's Use of Force Against Iran Would Be a Disaster

I previously posted the notice that Zbigniew (or Mika's pappy) would be speaking at Brigham Young University. I have not been able to find a video of his speech, but the Deseret News has summarized the lecture.

If Iran obtains nuclear weapons, it's not the end of the world, a former national security adviser told a standing-room- only audience at BYU Tuesday night.

"Use of force (against Iran) is as much of a disaster as Iran acquiring a nuclear weapon," said Zbigniew Brzezinski, who advised former President Jimmy Carter and is a professor of American Foreign Policy at Johns Hopkins University.

Brzezinski explained that if the United States bombed Iran because of fears of nuclear weapons, the consequences would be negative and for the most part unpredictable.

Mystery Space Object to Fly By Earth on January 13, 2010

Is this the beginning of the end like the movie "Independence Day" or is it merely some space rock that has gotten to close to the planet? Whatever it is, it will be whizzing by the Earth today!

A mystery object from space is about to whizz close by Earth on Wednesday. It won't hit our planet, but scientists are stumped by what exactly it is.

Astronomers say it may be space junk or it could be a tiny asteroid, too small to cause damage even if it hit. It's 33 to 50 feet wide at most.

NASA says that on Wednesday at 7:47 a.m. EST, it will streak by, missing Earth by about 80,000 miles. In the western United States it may be bright enough to be seen with a good amateur telescope.

United Arab Emirates to Become First Arabian Country with Nuclear Facility

More and more news that slipped through the holiday cracks as this story broke right after Christmas 2009. South Korea just signed a phat deal worth nearly $20 billion to build four (4) nuclear plants in the United Arab Emirates. It is the biggest international deal ever for South Korea.

The nuclear reactors should all be in operation by 2020, by which time demand for electricity in the UAE is expected to have more than doubled. The first is scheduled to begin supplying power in 2017.

As well as Kepco, the winning consortium includes Samsung, Hyundai and Doosan Heavy Industries, as well as US firm Westinghouse and Japan's Toshiba.

The South Korean president's office described the deal as "the largest mega-project in Korean history".

This will be the first nuclear facility in an Arabian country. Saddam tried to build a nuclear facility back in the 1980s, but the facility was blown to bits by the Israeli Air Force before it could begin operation.

Montana Health Care Workers Resign Over Mandatory H1N1 "Swine Flu" Vaccines!

Doesn't the State of Montana realize that the H1N1 pandemic was a dud and the hype has fizzled out? Why is the State still requiring people to get the H1N1 shot?

Riverstone Health confirms officials asked four employees who refused to get vaccinated to resign or retire. "The best way to stop influenza epidemics is to get vaccinated," said Riverstone Health Board Member Michael Dennis.

Female Cougar Dies from Pneumonic Plague in Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming

The powers-that-be say that it is fairly common for wood creatures to contract the plague from rodents. Nevertheless, the alleged stories about the pneumonic plague from the Ukraine have me on high alert for anything relating to the plague whatsoever. It is being reported that a cougar (also known as a mountain lion or a puma) has died of the plague in Grand Teton National Park.

[Grand Teton’s senior wildlife biologist, Steve] Cain said the dead cat was found at the southern end of Grand Teton National Park near the base of the Tetons...

Researchers later confirmed that the cat died of plague. Counting F13, at least five cougars have died of plague in the Greater Yellowstone Area in recent years. In the summer of 2008, a Boy Scout contracted the disease during a visit to Jackson Hole and later recovered. The disease is naturally occurring in the region, and researchers say the bacteria does not pose much of a threat to the overall cougar population.

George Orwell's Animal Farm (Animated Movie Whose Original Ending Was Changed By C.I.A. for Anti-Communist Propaganda Purposes)

This Animal Farm book by George Orwell was always one of my favorites to read when I was back in school. I have never watched this animated movie of the book, so hopefully it is decent. You can read about this movie on the Wikipedia page or watch the cartoon movie (or simply click the picture above).

However if you are supposed to be reading the actual book, please be advised that the Central Intelligence Agency (C.I.A.) changed the movie's ending from the ending in the book for propaganda purposes.

That ending was altered in the 1955 animated version, which removed the humans, leaving only the nasty pigs. Another example of Hollywood butchering great literature? Yes, but in this case the film's secret producer was the Central Intelligence Agency.

The C.I.A., it seems, was worried that the public might be too influenced by Orwell's pox-on-both-their-houses critique of the capitalist humans and Communist pigs. So after his death in 1950, agents were dispatched (by none other than E. Howard Hunt, later of Watergate fame) to buy the film rights to ''Animal Farm'' from his widow to make its message more overtly anti-Communist.

Constitution Free Zone of the United States of America (Nearly 200 Million People Live in This Anti-4th Amendment Zone!)

If you have ever driven on Interstate-5 between Los Angeles and San Diego, then you have experienced one of these Constitution-free zone checkpoints. It turns out that these checkpoints are not just limited to the immediate border areas. I remember asking this question when I was a teenager and went through these checkpoints for the first time. Why in the world is a border checkpoint in Oceanside, CA when the border is 50 miles away?

It appears that the government claims that its border authority extends a 100 miles from the external borders of the United States. The ACLU has put together a nice fact sheet that explains the Constitution Free Zone.

The problem

* Normally under the Fourth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, the American people are not generally subject to random and arbitrary stops and searches.

* The border, however, has always been an exception. There, the longstanding view is that the normal rules do not apply. For example the authorities do not need a warrant or probable cause to conduct a “routine search.”

* But what is “the border”? According to the government, it is a 100-mile wide strip that wraps around the “external boundary” of the United States.

* As a result of this claimed authority, individuals who are far away from the border, American citizens traveling from one place in America to another, are being stopped and harassed in ways that our Constitution does not permit.

* Border Patrol has been setting up checkpoints inland — on highways in states such as California, Texas and Arizona, and at ferry terminals in Washington State. Typically, the agents ask drivers and passengers about their citizenship. Unfortunately, our courts so far have permitted these kinds of checkpoints – legally speaking, they are “administrative” stops that are permitted only for the specific purpose of protecting the nation’s borders. They cannot become general drug-search or other law enforcement efforts.

* However, these stops by Border Patrol agents are not remaining confined to that border security purpose. On the roads of California and elsewhere in the nation – places far removed from the actual border – agents are stopping, interrogating, and searching Americans on an everyday basis with absolutely no suspicion of wrongdoing.

* The bottom line is that the extraordinary authorities that the government possesses at the border are spilling into regular American streets.

Much of U.S. population affected

* Many Americans and Washington policymakers believe that this is a problem confined to the San Diego-Tijuana border or the dusty sands of Arizona or Texas, but these powers stretch far inland across the United States.

* To calculate what proportion of the U.S. population is affected by these powers, the ACLU created a map and spreadsheet showing the population and population centers that lie within 100 miles of any “external boundary” of the United States.

* The population estimates were calculated by examining the most recent US census numbers for all counties within 100 miles of these borders. Using numbers from the Population Distribution Branch of the US Census Bureau, we were able to estimate both the total number and a state-by-state population breakdown. The custom map was created with help from a map expert at World Sites Atlas.

* What we found is that fully TWO-THIRDS of the United States’ population lives within this Constitution-free or Constitution-lite Zone. That’s 197.4 million people who live within 100 miles of the US land and coastal borders.

* Nine of the top 10 largest metropolitan areas as determined by the 2000 census, fall within the Constitution-free Zone. (The only exception is #9, Dallas-Fort Worth.) Some states are considered to lie completely within the zone: Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Hawaii, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont.

Part of a broader problem

* The spread of border-search powers inland is part of a broad expansion of border powers with the potential to affect the lives of ordinary Americans who have never left their own country.

* It coincides with the development of numerous border technologies, including watch list and database systems such as the Automated Targeting System (ATS) traveler risk assessment program, identity and tracking systems such as electronic (RFID) passports, the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI), and intrusive technological schemes such as the Secure Border Initiative Network (SBINet) or “virtual border fence” and unmanned aerial vehicles (aka “drone aircraft”).

* This illegitimate expansion of the extraordinary powers of agents at the border is also part of a general trend we have seen over the past 8 years of an untrammeled, heedless expansion of police and national security powers without regard to the effect on innocent Americans.

* This trend is also typical of the Bush Administration’s dragnet approach to law enforcement and national security. Instead of intelligent, competent, targeted efforts to stop terrorism, illegal immigration, and other crimes, what we have been seeing in area after area is an approach that turns us all into suspects. This approach seeks to sift through the entire U.S. population in the hopes of encountering the rare individual whom the authorities have a legitimate interest in.

If the current generation of Americans does not challenge this creeping (and sometimes galloping) expansion of federal powers over the individual through the rationale of “border protection,” we are not doing our part to keep alive the rights and freedoms that we inherited, and will soon find that we have lost some or all of their right to go about their business, and travel around inside their own country, without interference from the authorities.

Kaspersky Labs Malware Researcher Predicts Google Wave, iPhone & Android Phones Will Come Under Heavy Cyberattacks in 2010!

First, they came for my telephone with the telemarketing scams. Next, they came for my CB radio with Smokeys impersonating the truckers and setting up speed traps. Then, they came for my desktop computer with viruses and Nigerian 419 scams And then for my laptop computer with worms, phishes, Trojans and all other types of malware! Finally, they said they were coming for my mobile smartphone!

A malware researcher from Kaspersky Lab Americas agrees with me and says that if you own a Google Wave, iPhone or any other Android (or Droid if you're in the cool crowd) smartphone, then you may be affected by a cyberattack this year.

Schouwenberg, a senior malware researcher at Kaspersky Lab Americas, predicts Google Wave will grab headlines in coming months -- but not necessarily for emerging as the next killer online networking app. Instead, he says, Google Wave is likely to become a top target of cyber criminals.

"Attacks on this new Google service will no doubt follow the usual pattern," Schouwenberg soothsays. "First, the sending of spam, followed by phishing attacks, then the exploiting of vulnerabilities and the spreading of malware."

California Golden Guardian 2010 Drill to Simulate Terrorist Attacks on Multiple Bay Area Ports

I did not realize that California had been conducting these Golden Guardian exercises since 2004. The 2010 exercise will be a terrorist attack on various Bay Area ports.

When hundreds of emergency personnel descend on the Port of Redwood City in May, prepared to respond to a terrorist attack, it will actually be just a $3 million full-scale drill designed to prepare first-responders for the possible threat.

Golden Guardian exercises are part of a statewide program established in 2004 and overseen by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Office of Homeland Security to protect the state in the event of a natural disaster or terrorist threat, said Jay Alan, spokesman for the California Emergency Management Agency.

Future Golden Guardian exercises will include:

FLASHBACK: 'Federal City' Being Built at Naval Support Activity Base in Algiers, LA Near New Orleans

This is a story from back in September, 2008. Apparently, the construction of a 'Federal City' began at that time in Algiers, Louisiana on the Mississippi River - near New Orleans. I will cite and link to the relevant portions of the project, but it appears to be similar to other combination military/civilian complexes like the Green Zone in Baghdad, Iraq.

More than five years after officials first publicly aired the idea of consolidating military and federal agencies in Algiers, the plan to create a "federal city" campus came to fruition Monday, when the Navy leased the Naval Support Activity to a city agency for 75 years.

The lease was signed a day ahead of today's deadline, set in a federal law, for the city and state to secure financing and to begin construction. The state has pledged $150 million to the project, and military officers are expected to join elected officials including Mayor Ray Nagin, and possibly Gov. Bobby Jindal, at the Naval Support Activity to ceremonially break ground today.

Federal City development rethinks the traditional “U.S. military base and urban neighborhood community” by integrating commercial and residential functions back into the urban fabric of the communities they serve. It is anticipated that DOD and civilian federal agencies, as well as the contractors and suppliers who support them, will be housed at Federal City. All tenants will share Federal City’s amenities and gain the advantages of the force protection features (emphasis added) that will be provided.

Are there any other 'Federal City' projects in the United States of America? I do not know off the top of my dome. I will have to do some additional research and report back.

Ireland Declares National Emergency Due to Arctic Freezing (Worst Weather in Fifty Years)

Once again, I ask Mr. Al Gore where the global warming is. I am quite sure the people in Ireland would much rather have a warm, brisk temperatures right now instead of the Arctic freeze they are currently facing. The Irish government has even declared a national emergency due to the freezing weather.

The Irish government has announced a state of emergency as the arctic weather continues unabated. The country has been on the receiving end of these treacherous weather conditions for the last 20 days.

It is the worst weather in almost fifty years and has paralyzed the country, shutting businesses, schools and government offices.
