Basically, a person can file a claim with BP if he/she believes he/she has suffered any of the following as a result of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
- Bodily Injury or Illness
- Property Damage
- Loss of Income
BP requires the person to describe the injury, illness, or property damage. Further, each person who files a claim will also be asked how much money he/she is requesting to cover expenses, loss of income, and/or other matters. If he/she is unable to provide an actual amount, he/she will be asked for an estimate.
