Huge Coronal Hole in the Sun with Solar Wind Stream Arriving on Earth June 7 or 8

The more I write on the blog, the more I realize how much I do not know. I have no idea what a huge coronal hole in the Sun along with the resulting solar wind will do to this planet, but I am quite sure that it will have some effects. I'm feeling lazy today, so if someone wants to write a simple explanation about solar winds in the comments, then please do so. Thank you. I will eat my vitamins and not be so lazy tomorrow.

NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory is monitoring a dark rift in the sun's atmosphere. The spacecraft's Atmospheric Imaging Assembly (AIA) took this extreme ultraviolet picture just hours ago:

It's a "coronal hole," a vast region where the sun's magnetic field has opened up and allowed the solar wind to escape. Indeed, a solar wind stream flowing from this hole is heading toward Earth, due to arrive on June 7th or 8th.

Will Corexit Kill Marine Life in the Gulf of Mexico?

Part I provides the background information to get an understanding of the geopolitics involved in the current Gulf oil disaster.

Part II focuses on the Gulf oil disaster and the use of Corexit as an oil dispersant.

FLASHBACK: President Barack Obama's Father Allegedly Worked for BP/Shell Oil Back in 1960s!

I've been asking so many questions on this blog lately that I feel like 50 Cent asking twenty-one (21) questions. Unfortunately, it seems that every time I get an answer, that answer leads to another question. While this story may not have any applicability to the current state of affairs in the Gulf oil spill, I feel it is an interesting dynamic in the overall mix.

According to the book The Bridge: The Life and Rise of Barack Obama, there is mention that President Obama's father, Barack H. Obama, Sr. worked for BP back in the 1960s.

Obama senior's political mentor, Tom Mboya, made sure that he had decent jobs-as an economist for BP/Shell and then for both the ministry of Economic planning and development and the Ministry of Tourism."

President Obama's stepfather Lolo Soetoro also worked for an oil company, but the company is allegedly an American oil company. That would seemingly eliminate BP from being Soetoro's employer.

Soetoro worked for the Indonesian government and later a U.S. oil company before he and Obama's mother divorced in the late 1970s.

For any teenagers reading this site, yes, America used to have its own oil companies way back when before it became trendy and lucrative to be a multinational corporation.

Is NALCO Poisoning the Gulf of Mexico with Corexit Oil Dispersants for Goldman Sachs' & Hathaway Berkshire's Profits?

There are a lot of hyperlinks contained in the quoted article below, so please check them out. The original link I viewed is from Rumor Mill News. I do not know who wrote the original article, but Remixx World! gives this author mad props. If you follow the links, you will see some troubling information. The same corporate fat cats that seem to profit from every disaster will likely stand to profit from the Gulf of Mexico oil spill disaster through the usage of the oil spill dispersant Corexit.

Somebody did a lot of work....don't let it go to waste.

Off I go...these jokers may be in the "top drawer"..but they DON'T own the filing cabinet...

Bombshell expose'. The real reason the oil still flows into the Gulf of Mexico.

As you know, the Deep Water Horizon has exploded in the Gulf of Mexico. It has been spewing oil from a ruptured wellpipe for over a month.

BP and the US Government has said they are trying everything possible to stop that multi million gallon oil from continuing to flow into the Gulf.

I am about to dispute that claim and offer an expose' as to why that story about them doing everything possible is a lie and a profitable enterprise to those who would make money from this disaster.

The Top Kill method was started and suspended several times. It was being attempted only half heartedly. The reason is, there is no money to be made with a solution that simple.

The real money is in the use of dispersements.

There is a company called NALCO. They make water purification systems and chemical dispersements.

NALCO is based in Chicago with subsidiaries in Brazil, Russia, India, China and Indonesia.

NALCO is associated with UChicago Argonne program. UChicago Argonne received $164 million dollars in stimulus funds this past year. UChicago Argonne just added two new executives to their roster. One from NALCO. The other from the Ill. Dept of Educaution.

If you dig a little deeper you will find NALCO is also associated with Warren Buffett, Maurice Strong, Al Gore, Soros, Apollo, Blackstone, Goldman Sachs, Hathaway Berkshire.

Warren Buffet /Hathaway Berkshire increased their holdings in NALCO just last November. (Timing is everything).

The dispersement chemical is known as Corexit. What it does is hold the oil below the water's surface. It is supposed to break up the spill into smaller pools. It is toxic and banned in Europe.

NALCO says they are using older and newer versions of Corexit in the Gulf.. (Why would you need a newer version, if the old one was fine?)

There is big money and even bigger players in this scam. While they are letting the oil blow wide open into the Gulf, the stakes and profit rise.

The Dolphins, Whales, Manatees, Sea Turtles and fish suffocate and die. The coastal regions, salt marshes, tourist attractions and the shore front properties are being destroyed, possibly permanently. The air quality is diminished. The Gulf of Mexico fishing industry is decimated.

All to create a need for their expensive and extremely profitable poison.

Some friends and I have compiled extensive articles and reports to support this claim.

Thank you:

BP Embraces Exxon's Toxic Dispersant, Ignores Safer Alternative
It has been confirmed that the dispersal agent being used by BP and the government is Corexit 9500 , a solvent originally developed by Exxon and now manufactured by Nalco Holding Company of Naperville, IL. Their stock took a sharp jump, up more than 18% at its highest point of the day today, after it was announced that their product is the one being used in the Gulf. Nalco's CEO, Erik Frywald, expressed their commitment to "helping the people and environment of the Gulf Coast recover as rapidly as possible." It may be that the best way to help would be to remove their product from the fray. Take a look at some of the facts about Corexit 9500:

A report written by Anita George-Ares and James R. Clark for Exxon Biomedical Sciences, Inc. entitled "Acute Aquatic Toxicity of Three Corexit Products: An Overview " states that "Corexit 9500, Corexit 9527, and Corexit 9580 have moderate toxicity to early life stages of fish, crustaceans and mollusks (LC50 or EC50 – 1.6 to 100 ppm*). It goes on to say that decreasing water temperatures in lab tests showed decreased toxicity, a lowered uptake of the dispersant. Unfortunately, we're going to be seeing an increase in temperatures, not a decrease. Amongst the other caveats is that the study is species-specific, that other animals may be more severely affected, silver-sided fish amongst them.

A Few Words About Nalco

"It is no wonder why Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway is the biggest shareholder."

If you read this article carefully, you will see the Dome they were allegedly using to "try to block the spill" was a lie. It was never intended to stop the oil flow.

It was an experiment being conducted for another project.:
Science magazine features Mines hydrates research

GOLDEN, Colo., Oct. 12, 2009 – Science magazine has published a paper by Colorado School of Mines doctoral graduate student Matthew Walsh, and faculty and co-directors of the Center for Hydrate Research (CHR), Carolyn Koh, E. Dendy Sloan, Amadeu Sum, and David Wu — "Microsecond Simulations of Spontaneous Methane Hydrate Nucleation and Growth."

The article was recently featured on "Science Express," the magazine's web site that highlights selected articles that will appear in upcoming print issues.

Wu explains gas hydrates as vast untapped energy reserves found in the ocean and the permafrost that are also a potential storage medium for hydrogen fuel or sequestering carbon dioxide. Hydrates currently pose the greatest challenge in the delivery of oil and gas in pipelines, which can be plugged by the formation of hydrates, he said. The Mines research reported in Science helps explain how hydrates form, and could eventually lead to ways to control their growth.

"Methane hydrates form at high pressures and low temperatures, and have an unusual crystalline structure in which water molecules form cages around individual methane molecules, " Wu said. "How such complex structures form is notoriously difficult to study since the process of nucleation is a rare random event that happens in a few nanoseconds and at a random location over a few nanometers."

This study was supported by the National Science Foundation-Renewable Energy Materials Research Science and Engineering Center and CBET Division, the U.S. Department of Energy and the Mines Hydrate Consortium, which is presently sponsored by BP, Champion Technologies, Chevron, ConocoPhillips, ExxonMobil, Halliburton, Multi-Chem Group, Nalco, Petrobras, Schlumberger, Shell, SPT Group, StatoilHydro, and Total.

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA -- (MARKET WIRE ) -- 05/02/10 -- is a premier source for microcap and blue chip research and commentary.

The scale and carnage of BP's recent oil spill disaster continues to grow on a daily basis. The Wall Street Journal, citing industry experts, on Friday estimated the size of the continuing oil leak at 25,000 barrels a day (up from the U.S. government's Thursday estimate of 5,000 barrels a day). BP shares have fallen 12% since the disaster.

The accident has forced President Barack Obama to put on hold politically sensitive plans to expand offshore U.S. oil drilling . In March, President Obama unveiled plans for a limited expansion, in part to try to win Republican support for climate change legislation. The White House announced Saturday morning the President will travel to the gulf coast today to get an update on efforts to contain the massive spill.

Yesterday news reports that several banks (including Goldman Sachs, GS and Citigroup, C ), recommended buying BP shares. They argue investors are over reacting since the April 20 explosion.

Yesterday oil giant BP (BP) released news that it has tested the dispersants (manufactured by Nalco Holding Co. (HAL)), on Friday night and authorized it's use on a larger scale. BP also added, it is looking for additional suppliers to begin manufacturing the material in mass quantities.

So there you have it folks.

The wellpipe rupture was a "Convenient" accident. The officials have no intention of stopping that oil spewing into the Gulf. They scammed us with the Dome experiment. They used the Top Kill method as a ruse to make us believe they were trying something. I'm sure they had many calls to use a method that has been around for decades and being used successfully many times.

It's all about the profit.

America's Western States Poised for Worst Grasshopper Swarms in Thirty (30) Years

I am more spiritual than religious, but there are things happening in the world that seem straight out of Revelations and other stories in the Bible. The waters in the Gulf of Mexico are blood red. Billions of people are starving throughout the world. Earthquakes and volcanoes are ravaging the countrysides.

And now, the proverbial locust/grasshopper storm is set to hit the States of the Western United States this summer. Let's hope and pray that the Rocky Mountain locust is indeed extinct and has not simply been sleeping underground for a 100 years.

A dramatic rise in the number of grasshoppers was found during a survey of the western states conducted last year, by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). And while that may seem bad enough on its own, it's really the grasshoppers' kids that are the threat.

If last summer's adults were successful during mating season, then the worst grasshopper infestation in 30 years could strike ranches and agricultural land in the Great Plains states between late July and early August, said Roeland Elliston of the USDA's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service in Fort Collins, Colo., who worked on the survey.

New Mexico Police Use Helicopters to Bust Teenage Graduation Parties at Private Homes

Hey New Mexico, considering all the calamities in the last few months throughout the world (and probably in NM too), are you really making the best use of public law enforcement resources by using a helicopter to bust people celebrating a graduation party whose only illegal act is drinking alcohol in a private home?

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Gets OK to Buy Up to 14 New Helicopters Despite Government Budget Cuts

The State is downsizing Superior Court locations, firing teachers and closing parks, but yet there is plenty of money in the budget for law enforcement and homeland security type purchases. If you are a person who deals in those types of goods and services, then your business is probably booming and money is no object for you in today's world.

Case in point, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department gets the OK to buy up to 14 new helicopters at the approximate total cost of $56,700,000. I wonder how many Nation-States have the resources to purchase fourteen (14) new helicopters like the LASD.

The article provides a benevolent purpose such as rescuing hikers in the mountains, but I bet the mountain rescues will be few and far between and that we will soon more than likely see these choppers flying down Wilshire Boulevard patrolling a food riot like a bad scene out of
The Running Man (see above video link) or maybe they'll use these choppers the next time fools get ignant (sp) at Venice Beach!

The Board of Supervisors Tuesday authorized the Sheriff's Department to buy as many as 14 new helicopters at a cost of about $56.7 million.

Twelve Eurocopter Astar 350 helicopters will replace seven-year-old aircraft that the department says are getting increasingly expensive to repair and have outlived their "optimal life span" of 7,000 flight hours or seven years of service.

Canadian Researchers Find That Bottled Water Is Contaminated with More Bacteria Than Tap Water

I am glad that I stopped buying and drinking bottled water in the last year. A recent finding out of Canada reveals that bottled water is worse for the consumer than tap water. I would recommend a Berkey water filter, but California restricted its sales here beginning as of January 1, 2010.

Researchers from C-crest Laboratories in Montreal bought and tested several popular brands of bottled water, and found many of them had heterotrophic bacteria counts that were "surprisingly high."

Heterotrophic bacteria require an organic carbon source in order to grow.

More than 70 per cent of popular brands they tested did not meet the standards set out by the United States Pharmacopeia, a non-governmental agency that sets safety standards for medications and health-care products.

Did Schlumberger Abandon Deepwater Horizon Platform Hours Before Explosion Due to BP's Refusal to Follow SLB's Safety Protocols?

***UPDATE (June 7, 2010) - For additional reference on the Deepwater Horizon incident from BP's perspective, check out BP's Deepwater Horizon Interim Incident Investigation Washington Briefing (Draft) for an overall background on this matter. Please note that this briefing document has not yet authenticated by BP or the federal government.

I hope that someone with some serious reporting chops and resources will take a further look at this assertion to see if there is any truth to it. If this story about
Schlumberger leaving the Deepwater Horizon oil platform at its own expense right before the explosion is true, then this will be damning evidence in any future court actions. Any Schlumberger employees/workers who witnessed these allegations should be very careful and should give a sworn statement immediately.

AlanfromBigEasy on May 14, 2010 - 3:06pm

Story circulating in New Orleans

With appropriate caveats:

BP contracted Schlumberger (SLB) to run the Cement Bond Log (CBL) test that was the final test on the plug that was skipped. The people testifying have been very coy about mentioning this, and you'll see why.

SLB is an extremely highly regarded (and incredibly expensive) service company. They place a high standard on safety and train their workers to shut down unsafe operations.

SLB gets out to the Deepwater Horizon to run the CBL, and they find the well still kicking heavily, which it should not be that late in the operation. SLB orders the "company man" (BP's man on the scene that runs the operation) to dump kill fluid down the well and shut-in the well. The company man refuses. SLB in the very next sentence asks for a helo to take all SLB personel back to shore. The company man says there are no more helo's scheduled for the rest of the week (translation: you're here to do a job, now do it). SLB gets on the horn to shore, calls SLB's corporate HQ, and gets a helo flown out there at SLB's expense and takes all SLB personel to shore.

6 hours later, the platform explodes.

Pick your jaw up off the floor now. No CBL was run after the pressure tests because the contractor high-tailed it out of there. If this story is true, the company man (who survived) should go to jail for 11 counts of negligent homicide.

Please note that this quote is sourced from the comments of a message board at The Oil Drum (if the above link is unavailable, click here for the cached version). However, The Washington Post does indicate that Schlumberger had representatives on the platform and these representatives left the platform before the explosion.

Industry sources say that BP also told three workers from the oil services firm Schlumberger to go home without doing a key test of the sturdiness of the cement in the hole, something that would have taken several hours; they left the rig 11 hours before the well blew up.

Former Presidential Energy Advisor Matt Simmons Says Government Should Take Over BP Oil Clean Up & Nuke Well Site

I need to check Mr. Matt Simmons' credentials, because he has some radical suggestions and based on my initial review of his background, he seems like a Neo-Con. I do not know if his recommendations are based on an agenda that is not in the best interests of the American people and the people affected by the Gulf of Mexico oil disaster. As soon as I determine whether Mr. Simmons' analysis is reliable or not, I will update this article.

Matt Simmons, founder and chairman emeritus of Simmons & Co., talks with Bloomberg's Mark Crumpton and Lori Rothman about BP Plc's leaking oil well in the Gulf of Mexico. BP said in a statement today that it has spent 930 million responding to the spill, which began after an April 20 rig explosion that killed 11 workers. The well has been spewing an estimated 12,000 to 19,000 barrels of oil a day into the Gulf, a U.S. government panel said yesterday. (Source: Bloomberg)
