Homeland Security is seizing websites at its sole discretion. This is a slippery slope that is probably better handled by the U.S. Marshals or the FBI instead of Homeland Security.
The Homeland Security Department's customs enforcement division has gone on a Web site shutdown spree, closing down at least 76 domains this week, according to online reports.
Unless Al-CIA-da is dealing in bootleg MP3s and home videos, this is yet another ridiculous waste of government resources. I recognize that willful & intentional copyright infringement is a crime. However, except in very rare, egregious cases, I do not feel copyright infringement poses a serious threat to the health, safety and general welfare of the community - at all!
If you ever happen to open up your favorite browser, click to Remixx World! and it's no longer available, then you will know that Homeland Security (and/or Google) has/have targeted it for elimination!
If you ever wanted to see what a crazy, murdering eugenicist allegedly looks like, take a look at Ms. Virginia Ironside in the above video for the first exhibit. This lady is calling for the killing of all handicapped babies. This would be almost be funny, but it's not, because a lot of people in government power also feel the same way. Does anyone know how many children Ms. Ironside has, if any?
[Mark Ashford's attorney, Will] Hart says Ashford was walking his dogs near 20th and Little Raven in LoDo, when he saw police pull over a driver for failing to stop at a stop sign. Ashford told the driver he saw him stop and would be willing to testify in court. Hart says the officer overheard him and "wasn't very happy."
...Ashford tried to take a picture of the officers to document the incident, and a few second later he was on the ground.
The Department of Defense (DoD), in collaboration with the states, has selected Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Texas, Missouri, Utah, and California to host the remaining eight homeland response forces (HRFs), which will be established in fiscal 2012. On June 3, 2010, DoD announced Ohio and Washington as the hosts for the first two HRFs, which will be established in fiscal 2011.
The creation of the HRFs is a part of DoD’s larger reorganization of its domestic chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and high yield explosive (CBRNE) consequence management enterprise, initiated during the 2010 Quadrennial Defense Review. This reorganization will ensure DoD has a robust ability to respond rapidly to domestic CBRNE incidents while recognizing the primary role that the governors play in controlling the response to incidents that occur in their states.
The homeland response forces (HRF) will be distributed across the nation, with one HRF hosted in each of the ten Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) regions. Each HRF will provide a regional response capability of approximately 570 personnel composed of CBRNE specialists, command and control and security forces. HRFs will self-deploy by ground within six to 12 hours of an event, bringing life-saving medical, search and extraction, decontamination, security, and command and control capabilities -- this represents a dramatic improvement in response time and life-saving capability to the previous construct.
Coincident with the creation of the eight HRFs in fiscal 2012, the department has selected Puerto Rico, Wisconsin, Louisiana, Kentucky, Nevada, Oregon, and Maine to replace existing CBRNE Enhanced Response Force Packages (CERFP) that will evolve into HRFs. These formations composed of existing National Guard units will be trained to respond to a weapons of mass destruction incident, including: locating and extracting victims from a contaminated environment, performing mass patient/casualty decontamination, and providing medical treatment as necessary to stabilize patients for evacuation.
Hey New Mexico, considering all the calamities in the last few months throughout the world (and probably in NM too), are you really making the best use of public law enforcement resources by using a helicopter to bust people celebrating a graduation party whose only illegal act is drinking alcohol in a private home?
People like to say that we are living on a prison planet. It appears that way to me more and more every day when I read the news. Case in point, this story about satellites being able to possibly track, trace and database speeders from outer space. If that is not some 1984 stuff, then I do not know what is. Talk about a lack of due process. How could anyone realistically challenge one of these satellite readings? It is one thing to question the ticketing officer in Court, but how will a motorist be able to confirm whether a satellite is giving accurate readings? Further, how would anyone even know which specific satellite tracked them?
The Home Office is testing the cameras at two sites, one in Southwark, London, and the other A374 between Antony and Torpoint in Cornwall.
The `SpeedSpike’ system, which calculates average speed between any two points in the network, has been developed by PIPS Technology Ltd, an American-owned company with a base in Hampshire.
Details of the trials are contained in a House of Commons report. The company said in its evidence that the cameras enabled "number plate capture in all weather conditions, 24 hours a day". It also referred to the system's "low cost" and ease of installation.
If and when body scanning becomes mandatory to fly in the United States, then you can expect that the airline industry will suffer economically as many people will choose not to fly. Hopefully, the TSA will have alternative screening methods for those people who do not want to go through these radioactive scanners.
All airline passengers in the U.S. will eventually be required to undergo a full-body scan before boarding planes, just as metal detectors became a standard and accepted part of the screening process at airports decades ago, the federal transportation security chief in Chicago said Monday.
I will have to check out this Sleep Dealer movie, because it looks quite good and entertaining especially if you enjoy reading the topics on this blog. Here is the synopsis from IMDB.
Memo (Luis Fernando Peña), a young Mexican, lives on a milpa in Santa Ana, Oaxaca with his family. Once, a river flowed through the milpa, which his father owns. But a few years ago, the Del Rio Water Company built a dam upstream. Now, residents of Santa Ana must pay $1/gallon to enter the facility and collect water.
In his spare time, Memo tinkers with discarded radio parts and builds an antenna to pick up voices from far away. One night, he overhears a transmission between Rudy (Jacob Vargas), a drone gunship operator, and his compatriots. His signal is detected, and tracked down to his family's shack in Santa Ana. Live on TV the next day, Rudy carries out a mission to neutralize an "aqua-terrorist intercept". As Memo and family watch on their TV, they soon realize that the target is the antenna on top of their shack. They run back to the shack, only to see it obliterated by a hovering drone gunship. As Memo's father crawls out of the building, Rudy gets confirmation that he is a known "aqua-terrorist", and Rudy fires a rocket at him, blowing him to bits.
Overcome with guilt, and needing to find a way to support what's left of his family, Memo takes the bus to Tijuana, the Mexican "city of the future"...
As a fan of the Berkey water filter systems, it is ridiculous for California's new law to effectively ban these wonderful water filter devices. However, the State is broke, so it is doing anything it can do to increase the monies coming into the State's coffers - including requiring expensive certification tests that are not applicable to the Berkey filter devices.
California, has adopted AB 1953 / SB 1334 & 1395 / HSC Section 116875. This revised “no lead law” as it’s commonly known, goes into effect January 1, 2010. The law stipulates that any “end-use device intended to convey or dispense water for human consumption through drinking or cooking,” as well as each of their individual components, materials and “pipe, pipe or plumbing fittings, or fixtures,” or flux, must be “lead free” as defined by California law. Under SB 1334, certification MUST be performed by an “independent ANSI-approved third party testing organization.” It appears that even if a product and each component of that product has no metal alloys and if a purification system actually reduces lead, under Section 116875, it must be be certified. An example of this is the Berkey sport water purification bottle; each of its components as well as raw materials utilized will have to be certified.
Research indicates that there are at least two different certification standards available, but there seems to be disagreement as to which standards will be acceptable to the state of California’s review Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC), the agency in charge of reviewing products and their certification. There is further confusion regarding testing protocols. While DTSC has issued an outline, it appears that the final protocols have yet to be settled upon. Throughout Berkey Systems ongoing research on this issue, they were unable to get clarification on the above requirements, instead it was suggested that “lawyers review the wording of the law to determine” how “they interpret the scope of the mandatory certification...” in what already appears to be a muddy mess. Unfortunately, many questions being asked simply can’t be answered by the January 1st deadline and as such, “strict compliance with the law” is recommended. In addition, should Berkey Systems desire to change any of their suppliers after certification, it appears that permission must be obtained by the certifying organization and that re-certification is mandatory, all at their own expense. At the end of this letter are just a few of the requirements needed to be certified, under this revised law.
Berkey Systems will continue to monitor the situation and as they get clarification on the issues for which they currently are unable to obtain answers, they will be able to make a further determination as to whether it will be in their best interest to pursue the matter further.
If you are in California, or have friends or family in California, please be sure to pickup an set of Black Berkey elements to have in reserve, for the just in case.
Sincerely:
The Berkey Guy

Once again, some egghead scientists are bent on destroying the world. While this article discusses spraying aerosol chemicals to block sunlight as being a proposed solution for the future, anyone who ever looks up in the sky knows that someone is already spraying the skies with something (probably barium salts and various forms of aluminum). Spraying the sky with aerosols is ridiculous and will more likely than not have negative effects where it is implemented. In a worse case, it could create a "nuclear winter" that kills billions who starve from the lack of sufficient sunlight.
Blocking out some of the sun's rays is a faster and cheaper method of controlling the Earth's temperature than cutting greenhouse gas emissions, says a research paper authored by University of Calgary researcher David Keith...
Keith preferred to speak Wednesday about how solar radiation could be reflected back into space by releasing megatonnes of light-scattering aerosol particles, or how low-altitude clouds could be created with sea salts.
No one should have the right to block the sun or geoengineer this planet no matter how well intentioned their quack science may be. We certainly are living in the future with a bunch of mad scientists! And it doesn't just stop with the space mirrors.
Stratospheric aerosols
Spray shiny sulphur compounds into the high atmosphere to reflect sunlight. Relatively cheap and easy to do, though the chemicals gradually fall back to earth. The most likely option, though possible side effects include changes to global rainfall.
We already have these stratospheric aerosols. They are called chemtrails! A chemtrail by any other name is still the same.
Ocean fertilisation
Dump iron into the sea to boost plankton growth and soak up carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Hard to do on a significant scale, and doubts about how deep the plankton would sink have raised doubts about how long the carbon would be secured.
Of course dumping iron won't have any adverse effects on other marine lifeforms likely resulting in an even worse crisis. Yeah, right! And I have some oceanfront property in Oatman, Arizona for sale at $500 an acre!
Cloud whitening
Fleets of sailing ships strung across the world's oceans could spray seawater into the sky to evaporate and leave behind shiny salt crystals to brighten clouds, which would then reflect sunlight back into space. Could be turned off at any time, but might interfere with wind and rain patterns.
Spraying salt into the sky will dry up the clouds and cause droughts.
Space mirrors
A giant orbiting sunshade in space to block the sun. More likely to be a collection of millions or even trillions of small mirrors rather than a giant orbiting parasol. Very expensive and impractical with current technology.
Let's make the planet even colder than it already is.
Artificial trees
Devices that use a chemical process to soak up carbon dioxide from the air. Technically possible but very expensive on a meaningful scale.
Why not just plant more real trees?
The good folks over at Prison Planet have already discussed this article, so feel free to click over there and read a comprehensive analysis.
On cue with the recent Underwear Bomber, the mainstream media outlets are suddenly saying that we now need to have full body scanners at all the Nation's airports. There are several issues about these scanners that I will probably write blog articles about over the next few weeks including whether these scanners (1) are safe; (2) violate privacy rights; and (3) are effective.
Unless there is a specific exemption or law passed protecting the operators of these airport scanners, the operators may potentially expose themselves to criminal liability every time they take a full body scan of a minor child and view the computer-generated image on screen. It has been shown that these body scanners will reveal the details of the person's genitals and breasts. Therefore, when a child is scanned in the machine, the body scanners will produce a sexually explicit computer-generated visual depiction and that constitutes child pornography. The British media is making a similar argument and says that British airport scanners break child porn laws.
The rapid introduction of full body scanners at British airports threatens to breach child protection laws which ban the creation of indecent images of children, the Guardian has learned.
Privacy campaigners claim the images created by the machines are so graphic they amount to "virtual strip-searching" and have called for safeguards to protect the privacy of passengers involved.
Ministers now face having to exempt under 18s from the scans or face the delays of introducing new legislation to ensure airport security staff do not commit offences under child pornography laws.
These full body scanners are a ridiculous waste a money, offer a false sense of security and are also potentially hazardous to human health. I will be keeping my eyes on this matter both here and aboard.
I guess the crazy operation that happened with Umar Farouk Abdul Mutallab on Christmas has served its purpose. I predicted that the authorities would be reveal that Mutallab had the explosives hidden in his underwear. Because TSA cannot physically inspect peoples' genital areas at the airport terminal checkpoints without running into serious privacy issues, the powers-that-be needed a more invasive alternative.
The hi-tech machines are being installed in ten US airports and take just seconds to scan plane passengers.
They are designed to replace the physical pat-downs that is currently widespread in airports.
A random selection of plane travellers in Washington, New York's Kennedy, Los Angeles and other key hubs will be shut in glass booths while a three-dimensional image is made of their body beneath their clothes.
The booths close around the passenger and emit "millimetre waves" that go through cloth to identify metal, plastics, ceramics, chemical materials and explosives, according to the Transport Safety Authority (TSA).
While it allows the security screeners - looking at the images in a separate room - to clearly see the passenger's sexual organs as well as other details of their bodies, the passenger's face is blurred, TSA said.
Remixx World! previously blogged on a microchip that would contain a patient's complete medical profile. The above commercial by Health Link promotes a different, but similar chip. It is an RFID chip which will can link to other compatible computers and RFID devices within range. Once a person has the chip and is within a network zone, that person's entire lifelog database may be referenced and accessed from a central point or elsewhere.
I do not support the detention of these supporters at the Copenhagen climate summit, but I also do not support the positions' of the people who were detained. The protesters are in support of a climate bill that will likely usher in some global governance structure where everyone in the world will be required to pay a global tax to an international bank or financial entity that will do nothing to reduce the pollution and irresponsible destruction of Mother Earth through the toxic dumping, genetic organism modification and water poisoning that is allowed for maximized profits.
Tens of thousands of protesters have marched through the chilly Danish capital and nearly 1,000 were detained in a mass rally to demand an ambitious global climate pact, just as talks hit a snag over rich nations' demands on and other emerging economies.
No one wants to pay a global tax and most people do not want a global governing body. Yet, these protesters' actions will likely lead to all of the above if their actions help sway the political actions of the Nation-States causing them to reach a binding agreement at Copenhagen.
The sheer lunacy of scientists baffles me. These eggheads always seem to think they have the answers to everything and their actions usually result in worse events happening. Case in point, the Asian carp. Here is a non-native species that was brought to the southern States. Mistake #1. During the 1990s floods in the South and Midwest, these Asian carp were able to escape their holding pens and began a northern migration toward the Great Lakes.
Where is it defined in the Constitution or elsewhere that sportfishing is a rational governmental interest that requires the destruction of thousands of other species? I would say that only a very, small minority of people actually sport fish. Yet, the government says that this small interest must be protected at all cost even if we have to poison the waters and kill thousands of other fish.
Hoping to keep Lake Michigan safe from the fish, officials in Illinois dumped more than 20,000 gallons of a toxic chemical called rotenone into a stretch of the Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal near Lockport, Ill. Rotenone kills fish by disrupting their ability to metabolize oxygen. Officials said they had no choice but to act.
"We are all very concerned about the threat Asian carp pose to the Great Lakes," said Stacey Solano, spokeswoman for the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.
Like I said, this is a fine example of our tax dollars at work (NOT!). Let's kill all the other fish and poison the drinking water to eliminate the Asian carp. I have not seen ANY evidence to support the allegations being made by these government agencies that the Asian carp will kill off all other fish in the Great Lakes. As I have continually said, merely saying something does not make it true. Even if the Asian carp were to make it to the Great Lakes, there is no way it would be able to destroy all the lakes' fish as is being alleged!
This seems to be just another eugenics ploy to poison the water supply of millions of people with rotenone! I would be much more concerned about the poison in the water that has killed thousands of fish instead of worrying about the Asian carp. I feel bad for anyone in the Illinois area who must now drink this poisoned water!
I have not yet read what Mr. Peregorodiev wrote, so perhaps his blogs rise to level of yelling fire in a crowded theater. However, it seems very unlikely to me that this would be the case and this appears to be a case of using criminal laws to stifle free speech. You can read the rest of this story at Global Voices Advocacy.
Ivan Peregorodiev, a 22-year-old medical student and blogger, has been arrested on December 3 for spreading rumors about pneumonic plague in the city of Saratov. Authorities accused him of disseminating false information related to an act of terrorism.
On December 2, the Russian bloggers actively discussed allegations that a large population of Saratov had been infected with H1N1 virus. The rumors said that authorities concealed many fatalities caused by the swine flu and the whole city was about to be closed for quarantine [RUS]. Later, people started talking about alleged cases of pneumonic plague blaming them on a local “anti-plague” research institute. The situation became so serious that Saratov Governor Pavel Ipatov [ENG] interrupted his visit to Belarus and returned to the city to deal with public outcry.
This alleged soldier in the U.S. military who works on the U.S.' southern border says that the military will soon close the border and forbid interstate travel under Obama's national health emergency order declaration.
This is quite an interesting video that basically explains how our government is able to borrow so much money from other Nations and international banks without having collateral whatsoever. A poster named maim on the Prison Planet Forum explains this video much better than I ever could. I don't know how true this explanation is, but it certainly makes sense to me.
When currency went off the gold standard, it had to have something of value to back it, ie collateral. That object of value that replaced the gold standard is the citizens of the country, their life time of labour has value. Your social security is actually a security bond, of value. Human beings are chattel, traded as a commodity like livestock.
Your birth cert is actually a business license. A corporation was created with your name when your birth was registered. You and everyone else actually have an entry in the stock exchange. (the value of) Humans are traded back and forth. When the chinese make a loan to the US, the interest they are paid back is the value of all those human corporations. The value is based on your lifetime of labour contributing to the economy. By the time your 40, the security bond named after your has a value numbering in the millions of dollars.
