Qatar has bought 300,000 H1N1 "swine flu" vaccine doses from the French Health Ministry. I do not know how necessary these doses will be considering that there are reports that the swine flu pandemic has subsided. Further, Qatar will also be receiving an additional 300,000 doses of Pandemrix from GlaxoSmithKline. SCH’s Director of Public Health Dr Sheikh Mohamed bin Hamad bin Jassim al-Thani said that as part of its recent vaccination campaign Qatar had bought 300,000 doses from France, adding that the state was one of the first countries to receive ample supply of A(H1N1) vaccine and had purchased such quantity in a record time.
