Report: Spent Nuclear Fuel Pools in the United States of America (2011)

The main reason I am posting this report is because of the recent flooding incident at and/or near the Fort Calhoun nuclear facility. I am quite sure that readers are interested in knowing how much spent fuel was stored at the Fort Calhoun Nuclear Station. The Institute for Policy Studies commissioned a report to answer this question and it released the report last month. You can click the image above to download the report or here for Spent Nuclear Fuel Pools in the U.S.

Per the report, the amount of spent fuel at Fort Calhoun was:

  • Total Assemblies = 1,054
  • Metric Tons = 379
  • Radioactive Inventory (Ci) = 92,962,800
