Here is Tennessee Senate Bill 2987 by Senator Tim Barnes that will be heard tomorrow (Tuesday, March 2, 2010). Senator Barnes appears to be pro-fluoridation.
Barnes is introducing a new bill that would require water treatment plants across the state to notify their customers when they decide to add or subtract fluoride from their water.

Senate Bill SB 2987 should also require water districts to notify customers that infant formula should not be mixed with fluoridated water as researchers, dental organizations, government agencies and the Tennessee Department of Health are advising.
The following is posted on the Tennessee Department of Health's website: http://health.state.tn.us/oralhealth/pdf/Contents.PDF (page 215)
"If liquid concentrate or powdered infant formula is the primary source of nutrition, it can be mixed with water that is fluoride free or contains low levels of fluoride to reduce the risk of fluorosis [discolored teeth]. Examples are water that is labeled purified, demineralized, deionized, distilled or reverse osmosis filtered water."
"A Tennessee State legislator, Joey Hensley, who is also an MD is urging all Tennessee Water Districts to stop fluoridation, reported a Tennessee newspaper on 11/29/08. At least 30 Tennessee water districts have already complied with his request.(6)"

By the way, one of your own TN state Senators, Dr. Joey Hensley - a family practice physician, sent a letter to all Tennessee Water Districts in 2006 asking them to stop water fluoridation because
“Much information is now coming out showing that the health risks associated with drinking fluoridated water significantly outweigh flouride's limited cavity-fighting action"
His Letter is here: http://www.fluoridealert.org/hensley.pdf
