Energy Wars: Asia (China, India & East Asia) Buys Record Volume of West African Crude Oil in Q1

The next "great" chapter in the Energy Wars will likely take place on the continent of Africa and the initial battles have already begun as other Nation States attempt to gain rights to exploit the valuable resources on the vast African continent. Asia (which includes China, India and other East Asian countries) has been building an oil infrastructure throughout Africa and its demands for oil are only increasing. Currently, the demand for West African oil is at record levels.

Imports of cargoes of unrefined oil from Nigeria, Angola and other African producers via Atlantic ports averaged around 1.79 million barrels per day (bpd) in the first quarter, up from about 1.53 million bpd in the fourth quarter and close to 1.1 million bpd a year ago.
