I must be slipping as I age, because here is yet another document that I missed. This registration document, if true and accurate, was made available on Jan. 24, 2007, by the Fransiskus Assisi school in Jakarta, Indonesia and the Associated Press. It shows the registration of Barack Obama under the name "Barry Soetoro" into the Catholic school made by his step-father, Lolo Soetoro. MSNBC reported that President Obama did indeed attend this Fransiskus Assisi school.
It may be some of the strongest "birther" evidence to disprove President Obama's eligibility to be President of the USA. Please note the following items on the above school registration (some of the text is translated from Indonesian):
Nama (Name) - Barry SoetoroDid President Obama disclose on all previous federal and state applications (where requested) any previous names he may have used?
Agama (Religion) - IslamicPresident Obama has stated on his official web page that he has never been a Muslim and was not raised a Muslim. **Note** - The original link is not available, but you can view an archived version here.
Bangsa (The nation / nationality) - IndonesiaThis statement would seem to indicate that Obama held Indonesian citizenship at one point in time. It is highly arguable that dual citizens are ineligible to become President.
As an attorney and a black man in America, I agree with the Birthers that there are some issues with Barack's citizenship. For ease of reference, I'm linking to my previous blog article Conspiracy Theory: Where is Obama's Long-Form Hawaiian Birth Certificate? where I analyzed the differences between Hawaiian long-form and short-form birth certificates using Attorney Berg's legal research.
I believe that President Obama has provided prima facie evidence (namely his short-form birth certificate and his oaths as an Illinois attorney and state/federal politician) that he is a natural-born citizen. Nevertheless, any presumptions resulting from this prima facie evidence may be rebutted by other evidence that contradicts or disproves the prima facie evidence. In Obama's case, Obama has provided a Hawaiian short-form birth certificate to presumptively prove his natural-born citizenship. If there was no contradicting evidence to this short-form birth certificate, then there would be no issue and it would be automatically presumed he is a natural-born citizen.
However, potential contradictory evidence has surfaced that could rebut Obama's prima facie evidence of being a natural-born citizen. Therefore, this alleged evidence should be reviewed and determined if it is sufficient to rebut Obama's prima facie evidence. If the prima facie evidence is rebutted, then the burden of proof would shift back to Obama to prove his natural-born citizenship through other evidence, because the Hawaiian short-form birth certificate would not be presumed to prove his natural-born citizenship.
At this point, no Court has agreed to hear this alleged evidence to rebut the presumptions, but it could change if some judge decides to hear the evidence in one of the many cases being filed. No matter what may happen, this issue will only be resolved when/if Obama releases his long-form Hawaiian birth certificate!
