Military Helicopter Exercises in the Skies of Montreal

These chopper exercises started in the urban high-rise building zone of Montreal last Wednesday to practice night time approaches. Montreal is in Canada in case you learned your geography from Street Fighter II (where there are no Canadian characters) and have no idea where the Maple Leaf State lies on the map.

Why would the military need to practice helicopter exercises in and around high rise buildings unless it was expecting these types of operations in the future. Afghanistan and Iraq do not have high rise buildings, They have an environment like the one depicted in the above picture, so where are they planning these events to occur in the world's war theater? What parts of the world have high rise buildings?

Two Canadian Forces CH-146 Griffon helicopters from the 427th Special Operations Aviation Squadron have begun three evenings of training manoeuvres, from Wednesday to Friday night.
