FLASHBACK: Timothy Geithner's Father Was Obama's Mother's Boss in Indonesia at Ford Foundation!

Here is a strange connection that you don't hear everyday on the evening news. Did you know that Peter Geithner (father to current Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner) oversaw the work of President Obama's mother Stanley Ann Dunham when she lived in Indonesia? I certainly did not know this information until recently.

Indeed, Mr. Geithner’s father was head of the philanthropy’s Asia grant making for a period in the early 1980s and oversaw the work of Mr. Obama’s mother, who developed the organization’s microfinance programs in Indonesia.

According to the foundation, they met at least once in Jakarta.
