Obama to Chair U.N. Security Council Meeting (First Time Ever for American President)

Is Obama taking his place at the table of global government? He will become the first American president to chair a U.N. security council meeting at the head-of-government level. I did not even realize that the U.N. had head-of-government level meetings.

On September 24th he [President Obama] will also chair a meeting of the Security Council devoted to nuclear proliferation and disarmament—only the fifth time the council has met at head-of-government level and the first time an American president has chaired it.
